On the importance of family background
Is family background very important? With the increasingly keen social competition, some people strongly agree to the issue. They believe that family background is a solid foundation for development. For example, the children can accept a better education, especially hunt for a good job by the time they graduated. It seems it’s easier to satisfy all the needs having the help.
Contrary to the standpoint, some people disagree but put more emphasis on one’s own efforts. To achieve success in life, they say, real ability and learning can word all the time, but family background obviously doesn’t.
As far as I am concerned, I give my vote to the latter opinion. It is undeniable that family background may provide some convenience to some extent. Nevertheless it cannot take the place of one’s efforts and persistence. There is no denying the fact that we have entered a digital age, with digital products used increasingly widely in peoples life, work and study. Taking a look around, we can find examples too numerous to list. The most striking ones might be digital cameras, digital videos and digital television.
It goes without saying that these products have benefited us substantially. With digital cameras, we can take almost as many photos as we like, as long as we have access to a computer to store them. Besides, we can those pictures we dislike without worrying about waste of film. Again, with digital television, we can enjoy more channels and scenes of higher quality than provided by conventional ones.
However, just as every coin has two sides, these digital products may also exert a negative influence on us. For instance, we miss the happiness of going through pictures taken by traditional cameras. Usually, after taking photos with digital cameras, we store them up and never have a look again.
With the gloomy prospect of returning to school, many students could suffer from post-holiday syndrome,which refers to a general feeling of depression before returning to campus life, which is caused by irregular lifestyles during the holiday.Symptoms include fatigue,lack of appetite and concentration,irritability and a feeling of helplessness.
