高考英语作文 篇一

as is shown by the two graphs above, the average price of eggs was on the rise from 1990 to 1995 and the demand for them increased correspondingly. the graphs also indicate that during the period from 1995 to the price eggs declined, and so did the demand. the phenomenon is quite strange and worth studying. according to the law of market economy, the increase in demand results in higher prices. that is to say, when prices climb, the demand decreases, and when prices fall, the demand grows. now the reality was just the other way round.

the reasons for this strange phenomenon are obvious. during the period from 1990 to 1995 with the development of our socialist market economy peoples income, bonus and different kinds of benefits, increased rapidly. though the price of eggs rose gradually, the demand for them grew sharply, too. on the other hand, when the demand for eggs reached a certain point, it stopped rising because people began to spend more and more money on clothing, recreations and tours round the country and even round the world.

it is generally assumed that the epenses for tours accounted for a great part of the total consumption of the people in our country from 1995 to . as a result, it seemed reasonable that the demand for eggs declined during the same period of time.as far as im concerned, with the domestic poultry farming continuing to develop, the price of eggs is likely to decline because the demand for them is limited and the fall in consumption of them is also inevitable.

高考英语作文 篇二

There is a widespread concern over whether it's a bad thing that people ive in a placeall their live. But it's well known that one man'meat is another man'spoison.

A majority of people think that staying in a place for a long time is a better choice. In their views there are two reasons contributing to this attitude as follows: in the first place, people who stay in one spot can develop a lifetime friendship, and such a friend will give a hand without hesitation if trouble comes .In the second place ,when people move to different places, they usually are under pressue from strangeness.A person may feel lost and tense in a place where streets, stores and schools are all different. As a saying goes :Fear always springs from ignorance.

people, however ,differ in their opnions on this matter. Some people hold the idea that people shouldn't live in one place through their lives. In their opint of view,on the one hand, people who spend a lifetime in one location can be locked into a limited way of life. A real problem is that life lacks the other hand, those who move frequently have a variety of outlooks. There is a chance to appreciate different ways of life.

As far as I am concerned, I finally agree the view that people shouldn't stay in a place all their lives. It's not only because people can broden their vision indiferent places, but also because fear will disappear with time. There is no doubt that nothing brave nothing have.

高考英语作文 篇四

one afternoon, it was drizzling. i was on my way home by train. there were only a few passengers in the carriage. when the train reached the station in front of a bridge, two impressive passengers got on, an old and a young. they looked like father and son. and they were both disabled. the old man was blind.the little boy of eight or nine years old had only one eye open, the other closed tightly. the little boy took pains to move with his father. as the train started rumbling again, the little boys voice got around, "grandpas, grandmas, uncles and aunts, my honor to meet you. im iao ming. now i will sing a song for you."

although the song was not very elegant, it sounded cordial and sweet. after several songs, as was epected, the boy began to "beg". neither did he use a plate, nor did he etend his hands before you. he just said, "uncles and aunts", then he would keep in silence. everyone understood what he meant, but they pretended to know nothing. some even turned their heads aside.when the boy got to the end of the carriage with empty hands, a middle aged woman screamed with annoyance, "what on hell happens? the beggars are everywhere!" suddenly all eyes fied on them. to our surprise, the little boy said slowly and seriously, "aunt, im not a beggar. i live on singing."

at that moment, my eyes misted. i was not aware of who started to applaud. immediately, the carriage was filled with applause. as i was putting a coin on his hand, i believed that there was no beggar on earth.

As is vividly depicted by the drawing above, a boy is sleeping soundly① and comfortably in the sofa, with the television on, when his mother comes and turns off the television for him, blaming the boy for not having turned off the television again②.

This phenomenon can easily be found anywhere in our daily life. Many people are used to doing③ everything with the television on, not actually watching it at all. Such a habit can cause waste of much electricity and energy, and result in the emission of carbon. This deviates from the popular concept of “low carbon life” - to reduce the emission of carbon, especially carbon dioxide, to protect our environment and realize sustainable development. According to statistics, if we can decrease the time for having the television on by one hour each day, we can deduce the amount of carbon emission by 4.71 kilogram each month.

To serve as responsible stewards of the planet④, we must promote and popularize a low carbon life among the public from every detail in our daily life. We must change the past practice of sacrificing long-term environmental health for short-term rapid economic development, and shift to developing green economy, circular economy and low carbon economy. All these effective measures can help us to reach harmony between development of the society and health of the nature.

高考英语作文 篇六

i've opened the curtain of my east window here above the computer, and i sit now in a holy theater before a sky-blue stage. a little cloud above the neighbor's trees resembles jimmy durante's nose for a while, then becomes amorphous as it slips on north. other clouds follow, big and little and tiny on their march toward whereness. wisps of them lead or droop because there must always be leading and drooping.

the trees seem to laugh at the clouds while yet reaching for them with swaying branches. trees must think that they are real, rooted, somebody, and that perhaps the clouds are only tickled water which sometimes blocks their sun. but trees are clouds, too, of green leaves-clouds that only move a little. trees grow and change and dissipate like their airborne cousins.and what am i but a cloud of thoughts and feelings and aspirations? don't i put out tentative mists here and there? don't i occasionally appear to other people as a ridiculous shape of thoughts without my intending to? don't i drift toward the north when i feel the breezes of love and the warmth of compassion?

if clouds are beings, and beings are clouds, are we not all well advised to drift, to feel the wind tucking us in here and plucking us out there? are we such rock-hard bodily lumps as we imagine?drift, let me. sing to the sky, will i. one in many, are we. let us breathe the breeze and find therein our roots in the spirit.

i close the curtain now, feeling broader, fresher. the act is over. applause is sweeping through the trees.

高考英语作文 篇七

Nowadays we are producing more and more rubbish. Why do you think this is happening? What can governments do to help reduce the amount of rubbish produced?

I think it is true that in almost every country today each household and family produces a large amount of waste every week. Most of this rubbish comes from the packaging from the things we buy, such as processed food.

The reason why we have so much packaging is that we consume so much more on a daily basis than families did in the past. Convenience is also very important in modern life, so we buy packaged or canned food that can be transported from long distances and stored until we need it, first in the supermarket, and then at home.

However, the amount of waste produced is also a result of our tendency to use something once and throw it away. We forget that even the cheapest plastic bag has used up valuable resources and energy to produce. We also forget that it is a source of pollution and difficult to dispose of.

I think, therefore, that governments need to raise this awareness in the general public. Children can be educated about environmental issues at school, but adults need to take action. Governments can encourage such action by putting taxes on packaging, such as plastic bags, by

providing recycling services and by fining households and shops that do not attempt to recycle their waste.

With the political will, such measures could really reduce the amount of rubbish we produce. Certainly nobody wants to see our resources used up and our planet poisoned by waste.

As we all know, volunteering has a meaningful and positive impact on the community you serve and the people you help. In the meanwhile, it can have many benefits for you, too. In my opinion, there are two reasons to

volunteer: feel good about yourself while helping others; build your portfolio.

On one hand, volunteering makes you feel good about yourself on a purely selfish level. There are few things more satisfying than helping people. Hammering nails on a new home while the owner beams with pride right next to you is an amazing feeling. Walking or running to raise funds for a cause close to your heart helps to give you a sense of purpose and helps you realize just how lucky you are. As a volunteer, you will gain new perspective, for it’s so easy for us all to get a little too wrapped up in our own lives. On the other hand, from a professional standpoint, volunteering is a great way to add to your portfolio. From press releases to design pieces, from public speaking to fundraising,

you will have the opportunity to build your portfolio. This is especially beneficial for students or young professionals, although all of us should continually work on building our portfolios.

Apart from the benefits of building up your confidence and making your portfolio better, there are probably many other benefits you will find in your volunteer work. So it is time for you to participate in more volunteer work to help others as well as help yourselves.
