一、微博简介
“围脖”是一个极具网络语言特色的称谓，是微博客的代称。微博客（micro-blog）顾名思义是一种微型博客，它支持手机、浏览器等多种渠道，实现跨平台交流，是基于用户关系的信息分享、传播的平台，用户可以通过Web、WAP以及各种客户端组建个人微博社区，以140字以内的文字及时更新和分享信息。

正是这些特征使微博适于充当教学媒介成为可能。在这个信息大爆炸时代，媒介传播速度之快使学生处理信息的方式也随之变化，而短小精悍的信息是提高学习效率必不可少的一环，微博对于提高教学信息传递效率扮演着重要角色。微博的多模态性决定了由它传递的教学内容将更容易为学生接受。微博支持图片、音频、视频以及超链接等各种格式的内容，符合被《时代周刊》称为“the multitasking generation”（M时代，即多任务处理一代）的新一代学生的学习风格，帮助其全方位地融入学习活动中去。
近年来，由于中等职校入学门槛降低，大部分学生英语基础差，听、说、读、写、译等能力低下，且学习目的不明确，学习方法不科学，学习习惯差，自信心严重不足等。而传统的英语教学又往往采用“灌输式”和“填鸭式”的教学方法，课堂是教师的“一言堂”，学生缺乏自主学习，结果出现教师教得辛苦、学生学得痛苦的尴尬局面。学生厌学情绪日益严重，令广大中职英语教师深感忧虑。中职学生英语学习基础差，但好奇心和模仿性强，且具有好动、好表现、乐于参加活动等特点，而传统的中职学校英语教学平台固定单一，无法满足学生大量英语实践的需要。
伴随着信息技术的发展，智能手机和网络在中职学生中已相当普及。在笔者所教的几个班级中约有1/2 的学生都拥有各自的微博账号，这一比例在高年级学生中更是达到了2/3。学生花在微博上的时间很多，不论什么事都会发微博，几乎每个人都是“微博控”（网络语言，指喜欢玩微博的人群）。微博为中职学生的英语学习实践提供了广阔的演练平台。
三、微博在中职英语教学中的辅助应用及意义
《中职英语教学大纲》提出：“教师要利用现代教育技术，拓宽英语学习和运用的渠道，改进学生学习方式，提高教学效果，探索新的教学模式，促进个性化学习；要开发和利用广播电视、英语报刊、图书馆和网络等多种资源，为学生创造自主学习的条件。”将学生热衷的日常交流方式应用于英语教学中，符合“90后”中职学生学习的兴趣和喜好，是对英语课堂教学的一种有效的补充。
（一）片段式学习
受字数的限制，微博中每次只能140字以内的信息，对于教学而言，将内容较难的知识信息分解为较短的片段式学习资源可以提高教学效果。微软研究人员Linda Stone在其研究中发现，将复杂的学习内容制作成一系列较短的学习片断后，更便于学习者的使用和理解，可取得更好的学习效果。微博上面所传达的这种碎片化信息正好同英语学习的特点对接，将复杂的语法分解成一条条的语法细则，提供一个个发人深省予人启迪的谚语或警句，甚至一个单词的释义、一个词组的用法都可以作为一条微博供学生学习、讨论。
学习碎片化还可指学习时间的碎片化。因为微博的阅读方式十分便捷，学生可以利用空闲的碎片化时间使用手机或者电脑来阅读教师在微博上的与英语学习有关的内容并与其他同学分享。这样就做到了随时随地进行学习，这种学习方式也与如今教育界所倡导的“移动学习”理念是一致的。
基于微博的这种化整为零的片段式学习可以减少学习者学习复杂知识时的认知负荷，增进学习信心，充分利用空闲时间，让英语学习打破时空的限制，实现泛在学习。在英语教学中可利用这一特点进行片段式学习，譬如从优美的长篇文章中摘选出一个个小片段。
（二）互动式学习
学习英语是为了交流，所以英语教师经常会在课堂上开展一些互动的活动，受到班级人数和课堂时间的限制，并不是每位学生都能参与到互动过程中。微博具有的泛主体化特点，使这种限制不存在了。教师可以在微博上发起一个话题讨论，所有处于信息圈中的学生就都能参与进来，教师也可以作为一个旁观者对学生的互动进行点评。美国达拉斯德州大学的历史教师莫妮卡・兰金斯就曾将Twitter 引入到课堂中，她在一名助教的帮助下每周利用一节课的时间来引导她的学生用Twitter 进行话题讨论。最后她得出结论：如果将微博讨论和传统课堂讨论相结合，将会取得非常良好的效果，同时可以有效提高学生的课堂参与程度，还能挖掘出学生的一些开创性的观点。
（三）情感教学
在英语教学中应用微信平台教学除了能够及时解决学生在英语学习中存在的困惑，还可以实时了解到学生学习过程中情绪的变化，并对其思想状况进行深入了解，从而提出合理的英语学习建议。情感教育在任何阶段都应受到重视，每门课程都应承担起培养学生情感的责任。在英语教学中发挥微博及时快捷的信息优势，教师可以第一时间掌握学生的学习和思想动态，及时给予帮助和排解，弥补师生之间在感情交流方面存在的缺陷，并且能够在老师的正确指导下获得情感上的安慰与满足，这些对于学生的英语学习无疑是有莫大好处的。此外，英语教师利用微信开感教学模式的同时，还可以提高学生对读写学习的积极性，从而提高学习的信心。
